Artist Statement
Arlo Maddox is a multimedia nonrepresentational process painter; method artist and action painter who resides in the pacific northwest.
Maddox drew his inspiration at a young age from his infatuation and influence of the psychedelic generation and its usage of dyes and fusion of color representations to explore free thinking.
The main theme of Maddox’s work revolves around the need for the art, not to derive from a meaning but rather to lead the viewer to a meaning personal only to them.
It’s important to mention each piece is meant to direct and revere its meaning through its energy of the emotion it exudes differently, each viewing never remaining constant.
In the multidimensional space provided to the viewer the flow is meant to uplift positive state of emotion as well as diminish negativity of spirit.
